<사진설명> Countries that attended seminars for pastor couples from 2002 to 2017. The map above is showing countries from all over the world that participated Hindolsan retreats until this summer, 56th seminar for pastor couples. Pastors from Asia, North and South America, Europe, and recently even from Africa received spiritual resources to continue their ministry.
“Lots of pastors from all over the world will come and visit our church to listen to the message.” A missionary said this through the Holy Spirit in 1986, when we started Yonsei Central Baptist Church, standing in a 200㎡ humid basement with a leaky ceiling. Some people shook their heads, thinking to themselves, “Our teacher wants something that is absolutely impossible”, or just laughed at him, like Abraham’s wife, Sarah. But there were some people who said “Amen”, remembering that all the prophetic words proclaimed on the church’s stage had already been fulfilled.
Thirty years have passed since that time, and the word proclaimed by the missionary through the Holy Spirit is becoming a reality. It was just small start that 35 pastors from the Philippines attended the conference in 2005; and 50 pastors from the United States in 2009. Up to 2017, across the 30 conferences that have been held, about 5695 pastors from 54 different countries have travelled here to receive the grace of God. For the forthcoming summer conference, 321 foreign pastors from 32 countries (including 6 countries that have not previously been represented at a conference) have registered their attendance. The newspaper’s publishing department has collected the statistics of the pastors who have traveled to this conference across the five oceans and six continents. They set out below what God has done so far, and look forward to His great work in the future.
The 13 Indian pastors who visited Yonsei Central Church in 2009 during the summer conference hosted a Pastors’ Seminar with Pastor Seok-Jeon Yoon under the umbrella of the Evangelical Fellowship of India (Chairman Pastor Arthur Paul) in June 2011, in Bangalore, India.
In 2011, 50 Indian pastors attended the Pastors’ Seminar, and the pastors of India are still attending the Pastors’ Seminar in the Hindolsan Retreat Center.
This is not only truth of India. Many other countries also invited Seok-Jeon Yoon to lead their seminars, including Haiti in Latin America, Swaziland in South Africa, Togo in West Africa, and Sierra Leone. "The gospel is preached to the poor and various incurable diseases are healed on the spot." (Matthew 11:5) The workplace of the Holy Spirit is spreading.
Pastors from six countries that have not previously been represented at a Pastors’ Seminar are to attend this year. These six countries are Malawi, Burundi, Mozambique, Kenya in East Africa, the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East and Mongolia in Asia.
The reason for the increase in the number of participating countries·particularly African countries·is that Pastor Seok-Jeon Yoon has frequently preached at African conferences over the last 3-4 years.
When Pastor Yoon preaches in one African country, pastors from the surrounding countries attend the conference. They receive God’s grace and then wish to attend the Pastors’ Seminar in the Hindolsan Retreat Center.
We hope that many people from East Africa, the Middle East and Mongolia will, through their pastors attending this conference, turn to Jesus for the first time. We hope that the pastors who attend this conference will repent, will increase their spiritual awareness and will turn others from going to Hell.
The records show the trends
From the Summer Pastors’ Seminar in 2002 to the Summer Pastors’ Seminar in 2017 (a total of 30 seminars, twice each year), the total number of foreign pastors who attended a seminar was 5,695. On average, 189.6 foreign pastors attended each seminar. Up to this point, pastors from 54 nations have attended a seminar.
321 pastors from 32 countries have registered to attend the 2017 Summer Pastors’ Seminar. The number of different nationalities participating in this year’s seminar is higher than average: there are 9 more nationalities attending this seminar than last winter’s seminar. The growing number of participating countries reflects the global community’s increasing awareness of the Hindolsan Retreat Center’s Pastors’ Seminar.
Looking back to the 2014 Winter Pastors’ Seminar, 1,078 people from Z country attended: the largest number of attendees from one country for a single seminar. The countries which have been most frequently represented at seminars are Z country (23), India (15) and the USA (14), followed by Myanmar and Canada (9). Attendees mainly come from Asia and North America. Additionally, the largest number of attendees have come from Z country (3,490), followed by the USA (510), Brazil (316), India (263), the Republic of South Africa (236), and Myanmar (140).
From Brazil, the country where traveling between cities takes more than 36 hours, or the USA, the country with such a strong economy, to Myanmar, the country closest to Korea, the geological, economic and cultural characteristics of the participating countries are very diverse. If we all have something in common, this is that the countries who now send the largest number of attendees initially attended with a small group of people. These same countries later successfully hosted meetings attended by Yoon Seok-Jeon, through which the Gospel spread widely, causing people to repent.
According to the accumulated number of attendees by continent (excluding Z country), Asia was ranked no.1 with 724 attendees, followed by 577 from North America. As for the countries with the largest number of attendees, these are Z country (14 times for 7 years in a row), the USA (13 times for 7 years in a row), India 11 times for 11 years in a row), and the Republic of South Africa (6 times for 3 years in a row). The number of attendees from the far-off African nations was rather limited, compared to other countries. The Republic of South Africa had the largest number of attendees in Africa with 236 people (accumulated), followed by Togo with 47 attendees.
We expect more pastors to attend
From August 28th (Mon) to 31st (Thur), the 56th interdeno-minational seminar for Pastor Couples will be held in Suwon Hindolsan Retreat Center. This seminar will include the largest number of representatives from foreign countries since we started holding Pastors’ Seminars at the Hindolsan Retreat Center. There is a great expectation that the Holy Spirit will work even more than before.
Pastors who attended the Pastors’ Seminar were able to show God’s power in their sermons. They did this by praying for several hours a day after they returned to their home country, with the grace they had received in the conference. And the pastors have many testimonies that their saints are also praying together and their churches are experiencing explosive revival.
The news of grace will be heard in the neighboring countries. In this way, the next Pastors’ Seminar is expected to include representatives from more countries than ever before. We expect them to make a big progress in the pastoral ministry of their countries. We give thanks, praise, and glory to the Lord who has done all these things.
