God is the Spirit.
The Spirit is Holy; He is the One God; He lives and works forever.
He is unseen but works (John3: 5-8).
The Spirit makes us His children and behaves with us; He sets up His own nature in us; He leads us to the eternal truth.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come."(John16: 13).
The Spirit is the will of God; He works in accordance with His will; and anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit is not be forgiven (Matthew 12:31-32).
The Spirit uses man to do God's will (Luke1: 15,45,67).
God had called man who should do His work among people before Jesus Christ came; but from Jesus's work in this world the Holy Spirit works in each man to do God's will.
Through Jesus's life the Holy Spirit worked in Him; Jesus's work in the world was the preparation of the Holy Spirit coming into the human souls who believed in Him (1Corinthian3: 16-17, John 14:16-17).
What the flesh desires is the lust of the sinful human nature; it likes drunkenness and debauchery. It is all foolishness, stupidity.
But being filled with the Holy Spirit is the true wisdom and clear intelligence; this is for the sake of your life and for the time of your soul; this denies any debauchery in your life.
So the only way to protect you from the debauchery of flesh is to let yourself be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes into and takes control of you; He works in you to lead you to the land of heavenly kingdom (Acts 4:31-35).
The debauchery is being blind toward the true value; you can do nothing but throw away what is most valuable because you are in the darkness of debauchery. This is the very stupidity, foolishness and being unwise; you are in corruption.
With His own power however the Holy Spirit makes those in foolishness and unwiseness into new personality; you are shifted from corruption to righteousness. He makes you get a new knowledge, restore the true aim of your life and be moved spiritually. Even the enemy of God would be made His man in the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:17-18).
Every flesh has the unrighteous desire of the sinful nature. (Genesis4:7, Galatians5: 19-21, Rome8: 5-8) The sin is the corruption of personality, that is, of the very nature.
If you are spiritually corrupted, you are not willing to believe in God; if you are morally corrupted, you are not willing to obedient to your parents. Therefore whoever is not in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, not in the control of Him, shall not be preserved from the corruption of personality leading to the eternal failure.
The flood that came on the earth when Noah was living testifies all this: Thoughts separated from the Holy Spirit is only of the sinful nature; causing sins and consequent death and the eternal ruin of his own soul.
Therefore the scripture says, "Repent and be filled with the Holy Spirit." Remember this is just what the words in the Acts are. To say again, you ought to 'miscarry' all your thoughts of sinning and all your sins; for the time of your soul let your body led by the Spirit to the eternal life but not by the mind of sinful flesh to the sin and eternal death.
"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want."(Galatians 5:16-17)
Without the Spirit's help, God saw, nobody shall be led to the land of heavenly kingdom even though he was given on the earth the grace of the salvation by Jesus's blood on the cross; nobody can be freed from the thoughts, the evil desire and the deeds of the sinful nature if not for the Spirit's guidance in him. God gave His Spirit in our hearts so that we might be shifted from the thoughts of the death and destruction to the thoughts of eternal life.
The Holy Spirit's descending is the close work of God in us; He wants to let us depart from the troubles of drunkenness, of debauchery; and from all stupidity of our sinful body; He is really eager to put us everlastingly in the side of the truth, of the righteousness.
My brothers and sisters, accept the Holy Spirit in you; destroy all the evil doings of the devil that dares to ruin your soul with the bad thoughts and worldly desires of the sinful nature.
"Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit."(Ephesians 5:17-18 )
Be freed in the Holy Spirit. Be together eternally with the Holy Spirit. God desires eagerly for you to be blessed with His Holy Spirit.
