Volunteers from the young adults’ team guide people to stand in the best spot. The photographers cooperate with each team to record the evidence of the great work of God in a photograph.

Every year, the Hindolsan Retreat center hosts conferences in winter and summer, for 2 months at a time. Many people from all over the world have experienced overwhelming grace at Hindolsan, regardless of their age or position:teenagers, young adults, elders, leaders, pastors and so on. To allow this grace to flow, members of Yonsei church work faithfully so that Pastor Yoon can preach the gospel according to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Through faithful work, the believers give their physical strength, hearts and time to God to express their gratitude to God, the gratitude for the blood of Jesus that saved them. This is quite different from the volunteer activities that solely aim to help other people.Giving thanks for the incredible grace that they have received from God, they devoted themselves to serve without receiving any salary.I set out below my report of their hourly work.

The rice and stew team started work in the early morning.
4:30 AM. The food team wakes up early, the earliest of the workers, and switches on 4 large-sized rice cooker machines.Rice for 1,600 people is being made at once. Since nearly 5,000 people come to each conference, they run 4 machines continually for every meal. The stew team cooks stews for thousands of participants as well. The side dish team's food is like the food of a professional chef.

7:30 AM. The side dish team is busy making food. They work in a tight schedule to make three or four side dishes that thousands of people will eat at each meal.Junior pastor Shin Young-hee goes to the Agricultural-fish market at 2AM to buy fresh ingredients that fill a 2.5-ton truck. It is tough for the volunteers to cook food for thousands of people at each and every conference.

Each of the women’s organizations encourages their members to stay in the center for the whole conference. Some members volunteer for one-day shifts. Their work ensures the food is served smoothly.

On average, 80 to 90 volunteer each day. This means that 2,880 volunteers support the conferences each year. The restaurant helpers and the dish washing teams take different roles.

8 AM. The restaurant helpers come into the restaurant to prepare the restaurant and to ensure there are no safety issues. At the same time, the young adults wash dishes, spoons and chop sticks with automatic dish washers at the back of the kitchen.

The worship supporters organize the seats in the chapel.
9 AM. Members of the service support team, neatly dressed, enter the main chapel of the retreat center. Until right before the sermon, they ensure that people are lined up properly in their rows, so that there is no wasted space in the chapel (which is 3,966m2). 20 volunteers stay in the center for the whole conference period. An additional 20 volunteer for one-day shifts.

10 AM. The sermon for the pastor’s seminar is being preached powerfully. On the 2ndfloor of the main chapel, there is interpreter’s room that interprets sermon into 9 different languages:English, French, Z language, Burmese, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese and Cambodian. They translate with the same heart as the senior pastor so that the pastors from 50 different nations all over the world can receive grace from the Spirit-filled sermon of Pastor Yoon.

10:30 AM. While the people listen to the sermon, volunteers from the university students group clean thetoilets and bathrooms.

The conference registration team registers participants from 1 month in advance until the conference.

11 AM. Even on the second day of the conference, people continually come to register. The 10 members of the registration team receive registration calls from 1 month in advance of the conference date. The conference period is 2 months. The registration team divides into two.The A-team (2-3 members) stay in the retreat center to manage the registration process, preparing name tags, sorting accommodation and first-aid.Meanwhile, the B-team (the rest of the members) stays in Yonsei church and receives registration calls for the forthcoming conferences.

12 PM. On the 3rd day of the conference, all participants take a special photograph. The photographers’ team and video team carry their equipment to take the photo in the best spot. 20 volunteers from the young adults group support this.

4 PM. Participants comes to the conference even when it is half-way through. The parking lot of the center canaccomodate 1,000 cars. The vehicle teams from Yonsei church men’s group are in charge of the parking. Their role is to drive daily volunteers between the main church and the center), to drive participants between bus stops and the center, and to manage the parking. Their responsibility is to safely transport church members.

5 PM. Snack bar staff sell snacks around dinner and lunch time to give small happiness to the participants.

6 PM. Gloria Praising Mission team pray after an early dinner. They pray for 1 hour and give glory to God for 30 to 40 minutes before sermon. Their praising opens up participants’ hearts so they can receive grace. Their members are 30. In the Seminar for leaders, the Eneglaim and Galilee Singers lead this praise mission.

8 PM. In the middle of the evening service, head office members review the next day's conference schedule in detail. They check if the day’s services ran smoothly, with no issues. They review every small or significant matter in specific detail. They discuss solutions for the issues that happened that day.

9 PM. Daily volunteers go back to their homes. Members of the Women’s group get on the church bus that has 40 seats.

10 PM. 20 to 30 members of the men's group and the young adults' group arrive at the center. They go to the center right after work or school.Their task is to sort the garbage. 3 to 4 tons of garbage are produced in a day. They use a 1-ton truck to deliver garbage; this requires 3 or 4 runs. They separate all the garbage at the dumping ground until 11 PM. They finish their task and go back to Seoul.

At midnight. at the Youth Conference, staff provides Ramyun as a late-night meal to them. In the corner of the restaurant, young adults’ volunteers pour hot water on Cup-Ramyun for thousands of teenagers. As well as this, young adults’ volunteers do safety check-ups all over the retreat center.

Through hearing the word of God, preached through Pastor Yoon, they were saved and have changed their lives. Working with love and diligence, they want others to experience being filled with the Holy Spirit and to live in joy and happiness from Jesus. We give all glory to God.
