The “Building 1,000 Churches in the World” sponsored by Yonsei Central Church is underway. There are 890 churches that have been completed or under construction.

▪ South Africa

Missionary Kim Joo-rim, who was an architect, designs the church building and builds it. South Africa is not the area where earthquakes occur, so they dig only 30 centimeters of land during civil engineering work. But we dig about 50 cm to 1 meter to build the churches in the foundations. The concrete curing time is also extended so as to withstand the brick load. To build a church that will hold up better against an earthquake, the earthquake-proof design is designed to withstand an earthquake of up to 8 degrees. The 'brick force' used in train rails puts at a height of 1 meter each when the brick is constructed. Most of the churches here are just built only with walls and roofs. When the churches were built by concrete brick, local residents welcomed it. It is used not only for worshipping the Lord but also for various purposes such as kindergarten, nursery school, wedding ceremony and so on. So the locals loved it and the number of the saint is increasing.

▪ Latin America, Haiti

Of the 200 churches that were completed, 141 churches were located near the capital of Port-au-Prince, and the remaining 59 churches were built in seven states. In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010, they drilled deep into the ground to solidify the groundwork. The churches are usually about 99m2 and are the most modern buildings in the area. It is being used as a school and a resting place for the inhabitants who have poor residential space and is used for evangelism.

▪ West Africa, Togo

There is no fear of earthquakes, so they do not digg the foundation deeply. They completed the church in four to five months with bricks and cement. It is about 198m2. They can worship the Lord comfortably inside by making the the wall higher and raising the ceiling. They planned to build 300 churches.

It is evenly distributed in seven states from the capital of Lome to Dapang of the northernmost part.

1. It is the 19th church built in Mafikeng where the seminar for pastors and the conference for lay members was led by Pastor Yoon in South African in October, 2016.

2. The 122nd Church was built in Haiti Marozo, which was completed in September 2017. The church, which was built with tree branches, transformed into a state-of-the-art building in three months, and the local believers cheered and focus on evangelizing.

3. Currently 120 churches are completed and 90 churches are under construction, with the goal of building 300 churches.

The 42nd Church, Lapoi, completed in the Muslim district of Kara city, has recently posted the glad news that 10 Muslims believed in Jesus.
